Aluminium ‘Nautilus’ Flood Barriers

The Nautilus 200 and 400 flood barrier systems are robust watertight aluminium flood barriers which can be quickly and safely deployed before a flood. Once the flood has passed, it is easily dismantled and stored away, ready for the next event.

The flood barriers are designed, engineered and manufactured in the U.K. They can span wide distances and are well suited for hostile environments.

The innovative and patented demountable aluminium flood barriers have been developed for both residential and commercial properties and have been installed on over 1000 properties across the U.K and internationally.

The barriers have been rigorously tested to comply with BSI Standard PAS1188 for demountable and building aperture flood defence barriers. The Nautilus 200 barriers have also passed independent testing for the new BSI Standard BS851188.

Using our in-house design team, the barriers can be made to bespoke dimensions.
The barrier system makes use of two permanently-fixed vertical side channels fitted either side of the opening to be protected.

Fixing

The flood barriers are available in either ‘Reveal Fix’ or ‘Face Fix’, depending on the aperture and location.

• ‘Reveal Fix’ means the rails are fixed in between the reveals (brickwork) of the doorway
• ‘Face Fix’ means the rails are fixed onto the outer face of the brickwork. (Please allow an extra 200mm over the aperture width)

Whilst we can provide indicative quotes from our head office, we do recommend having one of our engineers visit the site to conduct a survey and ensure all routes of ingress are considered, and the best mitigation options are proposed.  Site visits are conducted by qualified professionals who have full Professional Indemnity Insurance. The cost of a site visit does vary depending on your location and the size of the site. Please contact us for a quote for this service.

Fire doors must not be blocked by flood barriers. There are 3 main options:

1. Internal fitment if outward opening.
2. U-Shape area with 90 degree demountable posts.
3. Construct walls to create a ‘pen’ to allow the door to open.
